Our Killin It Mega Truck started it's life as a 2010 GMC 2500HD SLT. It's powered by a 6.6 liter Duramax Diesel engine with an Allison Transmission. We bought it back in 2012 used with 50,000 miles. From 2012 through 2018 is was daily driven and went through a wide variety of street acceptable upgrades between different lift kits, wheel/tire combos, minor engine upgrades, and cosmetic changes.
By 2018, our 2010 GMC was sitting strong with a great deal of changes from it's original form. We ended the street life at 180,000 miles with style and plenty of upgrades including those below:
She now sits 11'7" tall, 10' wide, and 14,000lbs. Her custom built and hand welded rims are 30" tall, 25" wide, and weigh 200lbs each. Her tires are 70" tall and 25" wide. Helping feed each wheel it's power are custom built Hybrid 20 ton planetary axles. Her suspension clearance is achieved through 20" travel coil-over shocks and a custom designed 2" OD .250" wall DOM tubing sub-frame.
The power plant is still holding strong as the factory 6.6L LMM Duramax diesel with a few upgrades including a stage 4 Suncoast built Allison transmission from JH Diesel, hood stacked straight exhaust, EFI Live tuning, Water/Methanol Injection, and Nitrous Oxide. Since it's widely agreed that we're living on borrowed time with a stock bottom-end, we may be venture towards something different in the near future.
